You cannot network once a week! [article comment]

Will Kintish recently wrote an excellent post about networking as an attitude rather than a specific task done at specific times: “Networking…what a terrible idea, you wouldn’t catch me doing it!

One part of the post deals with the fact that you cannot say things such as “I’m going networking once this week” because you will be networking every time you interact with other people. Today, tomorrow and… all week!

The other part of the post is about the importance of “old fashioned” face-to-face communication to build your network. There is “no replacement for the smile, the eye contact and the reading of the body language”.
